English font that look like Hindi.

Here is a collection of some Latin fonts that shows Devanagari effect in their design. These are some famous English font that look like Hindi. Now days these fonts are much in demand.
These Devanagari style fonts are mostly used for art purpose, decoration and showing ancient Indian history effect.
The use of these fonts can be seen at many places. On many book covers, store or showroom name,  Sanskrit or Hindi related English books.

As we can see the name of showroom is written using samarkan font. The speciality of this font is that it has the same common cape line which connects the all consonants in Hindi fonts. This line maintain the beauty of whole word written with the use of this font as in Hindi fonts.
The second thing which attract user is that the curve made in this font for all letters are same as in traditional Hindi fonts. It has the same roundy shape and varying thickness of lines.

This fonts has the same glyphs assigned for upper and lower case.
In case when you need upper case letters in a start of sentence then you can't. Overall this font has a fabulous look for the Hindi related purposes.

Samarkan Font used in Commonwealth Games:

added on: 3rd July 2014
In commonwealth games India won it's first gold medal in squash at Glasgow. Here one more thing to notice about was that samarkan font is used on the jersey of Joshna Chinappa and Dipika Pallikal.
Country name backside jersey was written with samrkan font for Indian athletes.
Recently I noticed that this font was also used in National Geographic and Discovery Channel for programs relevant to Indian region.

    1. First of all you need to install that font in your system.
If you are working in Microsoft Word then open it and select desired font from drop down list for choosing fonts. This list will show all of your fonts installed in your system.

  4. I started experimenting with Hindi like fonts for fun. I am using a Win 10 system with Word 2007. Samarkan as well as Ananda nameste seems to introduce unnecessary characters (see below). Thank you, Well copy and paste from Word 2007 is not pasting Hindi words here.

what is happening here? Samarkan seems to introduce a box when we use space
And Samarkan oblique says installed but does not show up in fonts.

Issue perhpas related to Win 10?
anandha naste seems to introduce something like nfor space.
